Gyeongbuk Seongju-gun and Philippines Review Agreement on Introduction of Foreign Seasonal Workers

Visit to 3 Cities in Pampanga Province, Philippines from July 31 to August 6

Gyeongbuk Seongju-gun visited the Philippines from the 31st of last month to the 6th of this month to discuss the introduction of foreign seasonal workers.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Seongju-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, visited three cities in Pampanga Province, Philippines?Lubao, Apalit, and Magalang?from the 31st of last month to the 6th of this month for seven days to discuss the signing of an MOU related to the introduction program for foreign seasonal workers and to address issues in the existing project.

During this visit, the county discussed unauthorized absences of foreign workers and sought solutions, and visited Apalit and Magalang to assess the current state of agriculture and to meet with local farmers and farmland owners.

A Seongju-gun official said, “We are grateful for the unexpectedly warm welcome from the three Philippine cities,” adding, “We will continue to communicate tirelessly and maintain friendly relations to ensure smooth project implementation.”
