LPGA Tour BMW Ladies Championship "Held in October at Oak Valley"

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] The BMW Ladies Championship, part of the U.S. Women's Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour with a total prize of $2 million, will be held at Oak Valley CC.

BMW Korea announced on the 9th, "The BMW Ladies Championship will take place over four days from October 20 at Oak Valley CC in Wonju, Gangwon Province." It is the only LPGA Tour event held in Korea. Previously held at the LPGA International Golf Course in Gijang, Busan in 2019 and 2021, the hosting course will change annually starting this year. This year, a total of 78 players will participate, including 68 LPGA Tour players, 8 invited players, and 2 amateur players recommended by the Korea Golf Association.

Oak Valley CC is a 36-hole international standard golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. This tournament will be played on a combination of three courses (Oak, Maple, and Cherry). Jang Ha-na (30) won in 2019, and Ko Jin-young (27) won last year. Han Sang-yoon, CEO of BMW Korea, said, "We are pleased to host the tournament on this beautiful premium course," adding, "We will prepare various programs to develop it into a premium event."
