[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The routes offering combined seating tickets that allow the use of KTX by combining standing and seated tickets will be expanded.
Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 9th that it will start selling 'KTX Combined Tickets' for the Gangneung Line and the Jungang Line sections.
A combined ticket refers to a single ticket that allows passengers to use standing and seated tickets or move between seats (seat + seat) when seats are sold out but there are remaining seats available for each section.
With KORAIL starting to sell combined tickets for the Gangneung Line and Jungang Line sections, the total number of routes where this service is available will increase to seven.
The sections where combined ticket reservations were previously possible included five lines: Gyeongbu Line, Honam Line, Jeolla Line, Gyeongjeon Line, and Donghae Line.
Reservations for combined tickets on the Gangneung Line and Jungang Line sections will be available starting from KTX trains operating on the 10th. Reservations can be made through the mobile app 'KORAIL Talk' and the Let's KORAIL website when seats are sold out.
Gu Hyuk-seo, Head of Passenger Marketing at Korea Railroad, said, "By diversifying ticket sales methods and improving the efficiency of seat operations, we aim to enhance customer convenience and increase revenue."
