Dongwon Systems and Soonchunhyang University Sign Industry-Academic Cooperation MOU for Secondary Battery Specialist Training

[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Dongwon Systems announced on the 9th that it has signed an industry-academia cooperation agreement with Soonchunhyang University at Soonchunhyang University Asan Campus to foster specialized personnel in secondary batteries.


The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Jae-pil, Vice President of Soonchunhyang University, and Jo Jeom-geun, Head of the Secondary Battery Division at Dongwon Systems. Under this agreement, Dongwon Systems will directly select outstanding talents from Soonchunhyang University's College of Creative Life and support field-oriented practical experience, customized education, and tuition fees to cultivate specialized personnel in the secondary battery field.


Soonchunhyang University operates early employment-type contract departments such as Smart Mobility Engineering, Smart Factory Engineering, and Convergent Biochemical Engineering as part of its corporate talent development program to nurture talents needed in the industrial field. Students admitted to the early employment-type contract departments complete intensive education at the university during their first year and gain necessary professional skills while working at companies from their second year.


Dongwon Systems has embarked on fostering specialized personnel in secondary batteries to strengthen its secondary battery materials business, a future new growth engine, and to solidify its competitiveness as a global advanced materials company. It is expected to contribute to creating local employment while securing specialized personnel in advance and operating its workforce stably.


Jo Jeom-geun, Head of the Secondary Battery Division at Dongwon Systems, said, “We expect that this agreement will significantly alleviate difficulties in securing specialized personnel, and together with policy support from Chungcheongnam-do, companies and universities will strengthen cooperation to take the lead in fostering specialized personnel in secondary batteries.”
