[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Com2uS announced on the 9th that it has made a strategic investment in the global metaverse startup ‘MetaWorld Entertainment’ (hereinafter MetaWorld).
MetaWorld was founded by Michael Jang, CEO of Firefly Games, known for mobile games such as ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ and ‘LOL Surprise! Room Makeover.’ The company is currently building a metaverse platform specialized in the entertainment sector. Through this platform, it plans to offer various services utilizing global celebrities, artists, and brands. To this end, it is actively collaborating with companies in various entertainment fields such as gaming, music, and film.
MetaWorld’s strategy is to provide a variety of Web3-based services in the future, including metaverse games, virtual concerts, e-sports events, and the creation and trading of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). In particular, based on partnerships with several technology companies such as Agora, a real-time video & voice technology company, AI, and NFT marketplaces, it plans to present an immersive metaverse platform.
Com2uS participated as a seed investor in MetaWorld along with its affiliate and venture investment firm Crit Ventures and the global metaverse platform company Sandbox, expanding its investment portfolio in the global Web3 industry. Additionally, it is expected to contribute to strengthening competitiveness for targeting the global metaverse market through synergy creation with Com2verse, a metaverse specialized company established in April.
Regarding the investment in MetaWorld, Lee Gyu-chang, CEO of Com2uS USA, stated, “The future Web3 industry will focus more on the content and user experience built within the platform,” and added, “MetaWorld has a strong vision and is collaborating with partners to expand and execute it.”
