[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] The Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Park Geun-oh) announced on the 9th that it is conducting specialized training for 290 volunteer firefighters until the 24th of next month.
This training focuses on operating a systematic education program, including inviting professional instructors, entrusted to specialized institutions such as the Jeju Branch of the Korea Fire Safety Institute (Branch Chief Jo Dae-ho).
Additionally, three courses are being operated: volunteer firefighter instructor training, CPR instructor, and life safety instructor.
Volunteer firefighters who complete this training will be designated as certified professionals after passing qualification exams and will serve as safety guardians throughout the province by providing various safety education and local safety services.
Meanwhile, there are about 750 volunteer firefighters who have obtained professional instructor qualifications in the province. They are leading efforts to expand the activities of professional instructors by discovering community-tailored special policies such as elderly care services, emergency treatment education for haenyeo (female divers), and safety education at senior centers, thereby spreading a culture of safety throughout the province.
