"High-Protein Ham Made from Chicken" Ottogi Launches 'Chick Ham Original·Black Pepper'


[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Ottogi announced on the 9th that it has launched two types of “Chick Ham Original” and “Black Pepper,” which use chicken to increase protein content while reducing fat and sodium levels.


The newly introduced Chick Ham is a high-protein ham with a pure chicken content of 91%. It contains 17g of protein per 100g, providing 62% of the recommended daily protein intake when consuming one can (200g). On the other hand, the fat content is lowered to 10g per 100g, and sodium content is reduced to 480mg per 100g, offering a moderate saltiness along with a rich chicken flavor.


It also features a moist and chewy texture. The breast and thigh meat are blended in the optimal ratio for the best taste, and it is aged at low temperature below 5 degrees Celsius for 12 hours to enhance the moist texture. Chick Ham Original focuses on nutritious high protein and rich taste, while Chick Ham Black Pepper adds the deep flavor of coarse black pepper.


Ottogi plans to offer various events and benefits to commemorate the pre-launch during the main funding starting from the 9th on the crowdfunding platform “Wadiz.” After the funding, the product will be available for purchase through online channels including Ottogi Mall and Naver Smart Store.


An Ottogi representative said, “Recently, as more consumers seek healthier tastes in canned ham, we launched ‘Chick Ham,’ which uses only chicken to increase protein content while lowering fat and sodium levels,” adding, “We hope you enjoy making various dishes with Chick Ham, which takes care of both taste and health, for a healthier lifestyle.”
