'Inaugural Ceremony for the Delivery of the White Paper by the Transition Committee for the 8th Elected Mayor of Jung-gu, Seoul'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Kim Gilsung, Mayor of Jung-gu, Seoul, received the activity white paper published by the Transition Committee for the 8th term Mayor of Jung-gu, Seoul.
The "White Paper of the Transition Committee for the 8th Term Mayor of Jung-gu, Seoul" contains the activities from the launch to the disbandment of the committee, the direction of the 8th term district administration, reviews of administrative tasks by sector and function, policy directions and implementation plans for pledged projects, newly proposed projects, and residents' suggestions. It also diagnoses and analyzes Mayor Kim Gilsung's pledge fulfillment plan and proposes ways to implement the pledges.
The white paper includes all activities carried out by about 120 people, including 15 transition committee members led by Chairperson Choi Myungok and advisory members, divided into three subcommittees: Administrative and Financial, Education, Welfare and Culture, and Urban Planning, from June 10 to 29.
The Transition Committee set the district administration goal as "United Jung-gu, Participatory Jung-gu," deriving 22 core tasks across 8 areas and presenting detailed contents and implementation schedules for each task.
In particular, the committee received high praise for its active efforts to get closer to residents by holding multiple internal meetings, reviewing various projects, and collecting proposals. It listened to the opinions of residents from all walks of life, including youth, the elderly, and small business owners, and laid the groundwork for communication administration in the 8th term.
At the handover ceremony, Chairperson Choi Myungok said, "I will never forget the passionate efforts of the transition and advisory committee members who worked with a sense of mission and did their best," adding, "I believe Mayor Kim Gilsung's leadership in the 8th term will transform Jung-gu from a district people leave to a district people return to."
In response, Mayor Kim Gilsung said, "The transition committee's white paper will be a guideline and cornerstone for the 8th term district administration toward 'United Jung-gu, Participatory Jung-gu,'" and added, "I ask for the transition committee members' continued generous affection and advice so that the district administration can proceed in the right direction."
