Automatic Enrollment for Pohang Citizens Without Separate Registration Process

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Pohang City, Gyeongbuk, has enrolled (renewed) the "2022 Pohang Citizen Bicycle Insurance" to support safe bicycle use for citizens and prepare for unforeseen accidents.

Since its launch in 2012, the Pohang Citizen Bicycle Insurance provides benefits to any citizen registered as a resident in Pohang City, and enrollment is automatic without any separate application process.

The main coverage includes KRW 15 million in case of death (excluding those under 15 years old), up to KRW 15 million for accident-related disabilities, a diagnosis consolation payment of KRW 100,000 to 500,000 for diagnoses lasting more than 4 weeks, and a hospitalization consolation payment of KRW 100,000 for hospital stays of 6 days or more with a diagnosis lasting over 4 weeks. Additionally, support is provided for traffic accident handling fees and lawyer appointment costs.

Pohang citizens can claim insurance by submitting a claim form and related supporting documents to the insurance company when an insured event occurs.
