Safety Campaign Conducted to Promote Safety Culture Among Port Workers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seong-hyun, YGPA) announced that it will operate the 'Yeosu Gwangyang Port Safety Culture Week' for port workers from the 8th to the 12th.
This is part of the response to the 'Special Port Safety Act' enacted on August 4 and the spread of a safety culture to create a safe workplace.
During this period, YGPA will operate a beverage truck and visit Yeosu Gwangyang Port operators, the stevedores' union, stevedoring companies, and construction sites to provide refreshing drinks to workers at the port.
In addition, safety rule messages will be attached to the provided beverage cups to remind workers of safety awareness through the campaign.
At the campaign site, President Park Seong-hyun personally visited to deliver heat illness prevention safety rules during the hot summer and urged compliance.
President Park said, "I extend my consolation and gratitude to the port workers who work hard for the development of Yeosu Gwangyang Port even in the heatwave," and added, "Please always follow safety rules at port workplaces to protect the precious lives of workers."
Meanwhile, while operating the Port Safety Culture Week, YGPA is also conducting the 'Safety Photo Challenge Campaign' at Yeosu Gwangyang Port workplaces.
Each workplace at Yeosu Gwangyang Port can submit photos related to compliance with safety rules to YGPA, which will produce framed photos and distribute them to the respective workplaces, thereby spreading the safety culture of port industry organizations to all workplaces.
