"Not Helpful to People, Party, or Lee"
"Urging Self-Restraint with a Mind of Putting Public Before Personal Interests"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Hyun-ji] Oh Se-hoon, mayor of Seoul from the People Power Party, expressed concern over Lee Jun-seok's legal response plan regarding the party's transition to an emergency committee.
On the 8th, Mayor Oh wrote on his Facebook, “President Yoon Seok-yeol said upon returning from vacation, ‘I will keep my original intention and faithfully follow the will of the people,’” adding, “Meanwhile, Representative Lee is announcing legal action. This is very worrisome.”
He continued, “What Representative Lee is doing now is not helpful to the people, the party, or himself,” and said, “Now is the time for everyone to unite to resolve the national economic and security complex crisis.”
Mayor Oh emphasized, “It is not the time to argue right or wrong but to unite and cooperate so that the president in the early term can work freely. I earnestly ask for self-restraint with a mindset of putting the country first.”
On the 6th, Mayor Oh appeared on JTBC’s ‘Newsroom’ and responded to a question about continuing to support Representative Lee by saying, “It is true that the resource called Lee Jun-seok has dramatically expanded the People Power Party’s outreach,” and “If there is any misunderstanding among the people about that point, ultimately it harms the party. That was the fundamental point I made.”
