[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Bora Network, a subsidiary of Kakao Games, held a press conference on the 8th at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to introduce the roadmap of the blockchain platform BORA and new games and services based on it.
At the 'BORA NEXT' conference held as part of Korea Blockchain Week (KBW) 2022, Cho Gye-hyun, CEO of Kakao Games, stated, "We will provide a well-made blockchain gaming experience based on our global business capabilities."
CEO Cho announced the lineup including titles to be onboarded to BORA in the second half of this year such as MetaBORA's 'Buddy Shot', XL Games' 'ArcheWorld', and Rising Wings' 'Compete', as well as casual battle game 'BORA Battle (tentative)' and sports simulation 'Baseball The Block (tentative)'.
He also explained that a project linking BORA with Kakao VX's screen golf infrastructure will start issuing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in the fourth quarter of this year and is scheduled to launch in March next year.
At the event, Woo Sang-jun, co-CEO of MetaBORA, announced the establishment of a 'cross-chain' environment to expand BORA's global ecosystem and increase user liquidity touchpoints, and as the first step, announced a partnership with Polygon.
Co-CEO Woo said, "We recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with the blockchain network 'Polygon'," adding, "Partners engaged in gaming, sports, and fitness businesses will be able to connect BORA with other blockchains such as Polygon, Avalanche, Solana, and Polkadot."
BORA plans to expand the Polygon NFT ecosystem within the NFT marketplace on the BORA portal to collaborate with Polygon. Polygon will provide technical support to BORA and assist in onboarding partner companies and IP-based NFTs cooperating with BORA into the Polygon ecosystem to create synergy.
