According to Seo-gu on the 8th, this agreement was promoted to realize a healthy and vibrant Seo-gu through barefoot walking and to raise residents' awareness of barefoot walking before establishing barefoot walking path infrastructure.

The main contents of the agreement include mutual cooperation for barefoot walking events hosted by Seo-gu, such as support for instructors for regular barefoot walking education and lectures, active promotion to revitalize barefoot walking, and statistics, information exchange, and joint research for barefoot walking project development.

Based on the agreement with the Barefoot Walking Citizens Movement Headquarters, Seo-gu aims to raise residents' awareness of barefoot walking through regular education and promotion, including operating the Barefoot Walking School, Barefoot Walking Promotion Team, and clubs.

In addition, after sufficient review of the infrastructure construction of Seo-gu barefoot walking paths and medical safety, barefoot walking culture in daily life will be gradually spread among residents through events such as the Seo-gu Citizens Barefoot Walking Festival, Barefoot Walking Academy, and Barefoot Walking Challenge.

During the barefoot walking education held after the agreement ceremony, the benefits and methods of barefoot walking that can be easily practiced were introduced based on healing cases of barefoot walking participants nationwide and scientific evidence, gaining empathy.

Kim I-gang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, “We will actively operate walking programs such as the Barefoot Walking School and Seo-gu Citizens Barefoot Walking Festival to spread the practice of barefoot walking.”
