[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwi-yeol] The live-action musical "The Kingdom of the King: The Battle of Samtaesa and Byeongsan" will open in a spectacular fashion every day at 8 PM from August 11 to 15 on the special fortress stage.

The musical "Samtaesa" is a work that reexamines the intense lives of the people of Gochang who, along with Kim Seon-pyeong, Gwon Haeng, and Jang Jeong-pil?founding officials of the Goryeo dynasty who earned the title Samtaesa for their achievements in helping King Taejo and repelling Gyeon Hwon?established present-day Andong.

This year’s performance has further enhanced musical completeness and offers more dazzling visuals and entertainment through choreography and the participation of skilled professional musical actors.

Since the opening of the new Gyeongbuk Provincial Office building last year, the largest video projection mapping in Korea was showcased for the first time inside the main building of Anmin-gwan at the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office, recreating the fortress and battlefield of the time. The 3D video mapping combined with lighting and the exquisite harmony of traditional Hanok architecture captivated the audience’s attention.

In the 2019 premiere, singer Youngtak, who appeared on Mister Trot, attracted attention by playing the role of King Taejo, and every year, trot singer Seon-gyeong from Mungyeong has taken on the role of King Taejo, enhancing the completeness of the production.

Famous entertainer Ko In-beom and reputedly skilled musical actors Lee Jong-moon and Kim Ga-hee have joined the cast, raising expectations even higher.

Lee Jeong-nam, CEO of the theater company Maek and the director, expressed confidence, saying, “You will experience a performance with even higher completeness through musical perfection, choreography, and the high-level acting of the actors. It will be more thrilling and interactive with the audience, maximizing enjoyment for viewers exhausted by COVID-19, making it the most outstanding performance ever.”

According to COVID-19 prevention guidelines, seating is not limited, but the 700-seat capacity will be operated, and those who make phone reservations will be given priority admission.
