Korail Gwangju Jeonnam Creates 'Naeil House' to Improve Children's Living Environment

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) Gwangju Jeonnam Headquarters announced on the 8th that it has recently completed the 'Tomorrow House' project, a social contribution activity aimed at improving the living environment for vulnerable groups near the railway.

In particular, to celebrate the 100th Children's Day this year, three households with children in the Gwangju Jeonnam region were selected for the project.

Starting from mid-July, employees participated in volunteer work during their spare time, donating their talents. The project included installing eco-friendly boilers and reinforcing wall insulation in each household, as well as providing customized desks, chairs, and learning devices.

A KORAIL official said, "Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and its resurgence, children who spend a lot of time at home are hoped to live in a more comfortable environment and nurture their dreams," adding, "We will continue to carry out sharing activities throughout every corner of our region."
