[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 8th that it has signed a 'K-Entrepreneurship Center Tourism Cooperation Agreement' with Jinju City (Mayor Cho Gyu-il) and the Korea Tourism Association Central Council (Chairman Yoon Young-ho).
The three organizations agreed on the importance of the comprehensive spread of K-entrepreneurship to lead a new future. Jinju was declared the capital of entrepreneurship in Korea in 2018, and the western Gyeongnam region including Jinju and Haman is home to the birthplaces of founders of global companies such as LG, GS, Samsung, and Hyosung, providing abundant resources that can be developed into educational as well as tourism programs.
The signatory organizations agreed to actively cooperate in ▲developing and operating 'industrial tourism and education programs' linking the K-Entrepreneurship Center with the history, culture, industry, and economy of the Gyeongnam region ▲promotion and marketing to attract domestic and international students and tourists ▲exploring ways to revitalize tourism in the Gyeongnam region connected to the K-Entrepreneurship Center.
Chairman Kim Hak-do said, "Through this cooperative relationship, I hope that entrepreneurship will firmly take root not only among entrepreneurs but also among the general public."
Meanwhile, SBC opened the K-Entrepreneurship Center in the former Jisu Elementary School in Jinju, Gyeongnam, last March, providing demand-tailored education for university students, prospective entrepreneurs, CEOs of small and medium ventures, and employees. It held nationwide touring talk concerts and entrepreneurship summer camps for youth, educating a total of about 1,700 people in the first half of this year.
