Meeting with officials today to gather on-site opinions
On the afternoon of the 8th, Park Bo-gyun, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, met with stakeholders in the disabled sports community at the Sejong Disabled National Sports Center to discuss policy directions for revitalizing disabled sports. Attendees at the meeting included Jeong Jin-wan, President of the Korea Paralympic Committee; Lee Yong-hoon, President of Special Olympics Korea; Na Chae-ung, Secretary General of the Sejong Disabled Sports Association; Kim Young-geon, para table tennis athlete; Choi Sa-ra, para skiing athlete; Han Min-soo, team leader of the Daejeon Disabled Sports Association; Choi Sang-yong, director of the Korea Disabled Sports Culture Association; Jo Jae-hoon, professor of Special Physical Education at Nazarene University; and Kim Kwon-il, director of the Korea Institute of Sport Science and Policy. Upon his appointment, Minister Park stated, "Improving the cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism environment for persons with disabilities also improves the environment for non-disabled people," and pledged to "establish policies to create an inclusive environment where persons with and without disabilities can participate together."
