[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Hanmi Pharmaceutical announced on the 8th that it has launched a health functional food called 'Geunryeokgaeseon Muscle Jjang,' which contains functional ingredients that can help improve muscle strength.
Muscle Jjang is composed of 1,582 mg of Omija extract along with vitamins B2 and B6, zinc, and other components. In particular, Omija extract contains the functional ingredient 'Schisandrin,' which is known as a rare raw material, with only 1.4 kg extracted from 1 ton of dried Omija. In a 12-week study conducted on adult men and women after consuming Omija extract, significant results such as 'improvement in quadriceps muscle strength and grip strength' were also observed.
Based on this, Muscle Jjang has been recognized by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for its functionalities including ▲helping to improve muscle strength ▲necessary for protein and amino acid utilization ▲necessary for maintaining normal levels of homocysteine in the blood ▲necessary for energy production in the body ▲necessary for normal immune function.
A Hanmi Pharmaceutical official explained, “It is a health functional food that can conveniently supplement muscle strength, which naturally decreases due to aging, and can create synergy when consumed during exercises popular among modern people such as golf, health training, and Pilates.”
Muscle Jjang has been released in a liquid pouch packaging for easy consumption anywhere. Each pack contains a 15-day supply (30 pouches), and it can be consumed by squeezing two pouches once a day directly or mixed with water. It is one of the 'Pro-Calm' series, a pharmacy-exclusive product brand of Hanmi Pharmaceutical, and is distributed to pharmacies nationwide by Online Pharm, a subsidiary of Hanmi Science.
