[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Hunet, a corporate education specialist company, announced on the 8th that it has been selected as an operating company for 'HRD Flex,' organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and will launch the subscription service for job training exclusively for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), ‘Hunet HRD Flex.’
The ‘HRD Flex’ project is a system where subscribing companies and training institutions sign a subscription service contract, allowing employees to watch various educational videos without limits. Subscribing companies can receive full support for education expenses through the government’s education expense support system. This is noteworthy as it provides SMEs, which previously found education costs burdensome, the opportunity to conduct high-quality education for free.
Seven institutions, including Hunet, were selected as operating companies for this project. The total recruitment capacity is 50,000 people, and Hunet was allocated the largest number of seats (20,000).
Upon being selected for this project, Hunet separately launched the ‘Hunet HRD Flex’ product. It includes over 3,700 educational contents, allowing users to learn enjoyably and freely as if watching Netflix. It covers a wide range of fields such as job training, work competency, humanities and liberal arts, languages, and certifications. Many of Hunet’s representative premium courses, such as ‘Master of Business Administration (MBA)’ and ‘Team Leader Leadership School,’ are also included. Especially, it is composed of short-form and microlearning content preferred by the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), enabling users to watch educational videos anytime and anywhere on mobile devices.
Hunet conducts education for an average of 7 million people annually and 5,000 companies, allowing it to provide corporate- and individual-specific education curation based on vast learning data. Additionally, Hunet operates a dedicated department for SMEs, offering education roadmaps specialized for SMEs based on years of know-how. Currently, about 20 SME-specialized HRD consultants are active.
The subscription service fee for ‘HRD Flex’ is paid, but companies can receive full support for education expenses if they meet the required study hours. Companies only need to apply for the number of employees who wish to take the courses and can use the service freely for four months. Enrollment is limited on a first-come, first-served basis.
