Launching '100-Day Recovery Project TF Team' with 18.3 Billion KRW Including 5.8 Billion KRW Supplementary Budget for 69 Projects in 4 Sectors... Enhancing Efficiency and Incorporating Resident and Expert Opinions through External Advisory Group
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Seocho-gu (District Mayor Jeon Seong-su) is launching a comprehensive support project called the ‘100-Day Daily Recovery Project’ to restore the daily lives of residents exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The 100-Day Daily Recovery Project was a key pledge of the previous district mayor and the first matter approved on the first day of his term. The district has since formed a dedicated team, secured supplementary budget, and gained the momentum for full-scale implementation.
In particular, the project will be carried out with thorough quarantine measures in preparation for the recent resurgence of COVID-19. This is a ‘two-track response’ that simultaneously ensures safety and daily recovery.
The project involves a total of 69 initiatives with a budget of 18.3 billion KRW, divided into four areas: resident life, welfare support, livelihood economy, and health care. In the ‘Resident Life’ sector, 28 projects will be implemented focusing on daily life recovery services. These include hosting the ‘Seoripul Youth Street Music Concert’ to support young artists and revitalize local businesses, and the ‘Our Neighborhood Safe Quarantine Team’ which monitors neighborhoods closely to conduct COVID-19 prevention alongside mental health care for residents.
The ‘Welfare Support’ sector will carry out 20 projects. It will discover and support welfare services for vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and low-income families who have faced psychological difficulties due to social distancing measures. Projects include ‘Happy Travel for Disabled Families’ supporting trips for families with disabilities who had difficulty going out, and ‘Daycare Retro Emotional Culture Experience’ which fosters relationships between infants and parents through nostalgic cultural experiences.
The ‘Livelihood Economy’ sector will implement 8 projects. To assist small and medium-sized businesses struggling due to COVID-19, it will increase loan funds and lower interest rates through the ‘Small Business Development Fund Loan Support’, provide ‘Ultra-Fast Loan Support’ by lowering loan barriers, and promote local consumption by issuing ‘Seocho Love Gift Certificates’. Additionally, projects such as the ‘Youth Employment Support Training Course’ will offer education in digital marketing and web design to support youth daily recovery.
The ‘Health Care’ sector will carry out 13 projects. While maintaining a steady preparedness against COVID-19 resurgence, it will resume the health center’s core duties such as the ‘Metabolic Syndrome Management Project’ and ‘Emergency First Aid Training for Residents’ to protect public health.
Before launching the project, the district formed the ‘100-Day Daily Recovery Project TF Team’, removing departmental barriers and integrating dispersed functions. The TF team will continue to hold regular meetings to share best practices and promptly address issues in underperforming projects. An external advisory group will also be formed to gather opinions from residents and experts and reflect them in policies.
Meanwhile, while promoting the ‘100-Day Daily Recovery Project’, the district will strictly enforce quarantine measures to prepare for a COVID-19 resurgence, supporting residents’ safe return to daily life. Considering the unstable epidemic situation, each project will establish countermeasures for a COVID-19 resurgence and will be operated flexibly while closely monitoring government quarantine guidelines. The district stated that it will not let its guard down amid the spread of COVID-19 and aims to achieve both ‘resident safety’ and ‘daily recovery’ simultaneously.
District Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “We will wisely respond to the risk of resurgence by mobilizing accumulated quarantine know-how and strive to provide residents with a safe return to daily life.”
