[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] Tesla CEO Elon Musk reiterated on the 6th that he would continue with the acquisition deal if Twitter discloses a method to identify fake accounts.
Musk stated on his Twitter account that day, "If Twitter selects a sample of 100 accounts and reveals the method to verify whether those accounts are genuine, the acquisition deal will proceed under the original terms." He also said, "If the data submitted by Twitter to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is found to be false, the deal will not go through," and questioned, "Why doesn't the SEC investigate Twitter's account data?"
At the end of April, Musk agreed to acquire Twitter for $44 billion (57.3 trillion KRW), but later unilaterally terminated the contract last month, claiming Twitter did not provide data related to fake accounts. Subsequently, Twitter filed a lawsuit to enforce the acquisition agreement, and Musk countersued, continuing the dispute over fake accounts.
