[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk Province, has decided to significantly enhance the content of the I-Mom Happiness Nuri Center and transform it into a play space where children and parents can enjoy together.
According to the city on the 5th, the I-Mom Happiness Nuri Center, which is directly operated to build a "Happy Namwon for Child Raising," secured a project budget of 100 million won in the second supplementary budget this year.
They also installed popular items for children such as floor-type interactive media sports, sponge blocks, and car-shaped wooden educational toys.
The center will operate as a space supporting infants' and toddlers' curiosity and development through play, and plans to add sound facilities for a lively atmosphere and resting areas such as a parent lounge.
To this end, the city benchmarked similar facilities such as the indoor playground Orbon Naeribong in Dobong-gu, Seoul, the indoor playground Hatibongbong in Sindang-dong, Jung-gu, and the DDP Design Playground Diki Diki in Seoul on the 27th of last month. After expert consultations and user surveys, the city finalized the content to be introduced.
Mayor Choi Kyung-sik said, "Currently, Namwon lacks spaces where children and parents can enjoy together in the concept of a kids cafe, so young couples are visiting nearby Jeonju or Gwangju. I hope that the expansion of the I-Mom Center's content will improve the childcare environment and establish it as a leading space in Namwon that is good for raising children."
Meanwhile, since its opening in April last year, the I-Mom Happiness Nuri Center has been operating various play programs such as toy rental, hourly care, sensory, art, cooking, crafts, music, kids ballet, and physical education.
Also, by surveying user satisfaction every month and discovering additional programs that meet the needs of users, the number of users has steadily increased to about 2,000.
