[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Shinsegae International announced on the 4th that it will launch an artist curation corner called 'Art Village' using big data on its own mall SI Village.
At Art Village, artists with high growth potential are selected based on big data, and their works and worldviews are introduced. First, artists are organized by fields such as figurative, abstract, photography, and sculpture, and then one artist is selected each month based on achievements such as exhibitions and art fairs, invitations to museum solo exhibitions, and overseas exhibition history.
To help understand the artist's worldview, in-depth interviews are conducted over a long period, and related videos are released for two weeks in advance, followed by the release of works. Starting with the first selected artist Kim Deok-gi, works by Go Sang-woo will be introduced in mid-this month, Kwon Oh-sang in September, and Park Kwang-soo in October.
A Shinsegae International official said, "Online has a great advantage in that it can show the artist's worldview and provide detailed explanations of the works to many people without the constraints of time and space," adding, "We hope that excellent domestic artists will be properly spotlighted and able to communicate with people through Art Village."
