[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Samsung Heavy Industries announced on the 4th that it will hold the '2022 Smart & Green Together Contech Contest' with Samsung C&T and Samsung Engineering to discover innovative technologies and promote win-win cooperation.
The contest is designed to discover domestic startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, universities (graduate schools), and research institutes that possess technologies and ideas related to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, and to support technology commercialization and joint technology development.
The recruitment fields include data technologies applicable to shipbuilding, architecture, civil engineering, and plant products, smart manufacturing technologies, eco-friendly element technologies such as carbon reduction and hydrogen, and proposals for new business ideas are also welcome.
Applications can be submitted via the official email on the Samsung Heavy Industries website until September 16, and after document screening and presentation evaluations, the final results will be announced on November 25.
Selected teams will receive benefits such as testbed provision, technology commercialization, joint technology development, and development cost support through consultations with the three Samsung EPC companies.
A Samsung Heavy Industries official said, "We hope this will be an opportunity for companies that have technological ideas but lack funds, personnel, and infrastructure to grow," adding, "Innovative technologies with high commercialization potential will be widely utilized across various business sectors of the three Samsung EPC companies."
