[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] A flash mob event commemorating Liberation Day, where you can experience the transformed culture and arts of Dobong, will take place throughout Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok).
On August 12 at 6 PM, Dobong-gu plans to hold 'Together Freedom 8·15,' an event where residents participate as the main agents to share the overwhelming emotion and joy of liberation.
This flash mob reflects the vision of 'Together! Change·Growth·Future Dobong' and features all performers as local artists, including youth.
Through this event, Dobong-gu aims to move away from large-scale performances and realize a cultural city where people can naturally feel and enjoy culture in their daily lives, marking the beginning of transformed culture and arts in collaboration with the community.
The event will be held sequentially for 30 minutes each at three locations from the start to the end of Dobong under the themes of the Light of Liberation, the Joy of Liberation, and the Ecstasy of Liberation, and anyone can freely watch.
▲ At 6 PM by Uicheon Stream: musical, dance performances, and resident participation performances ▲ At 7 PM under Changdong Station: Taekwondo dance, Nanta, and Samulnori ▲ At 8 PM at Banghak Sagye Plaza Summer Yard: instrumental performances, choir, resident participation flash mob, and caricatures.
The district is recruiting flash mob participants on a first-come, first-served basis via the internet, and those interested can apply through the QR code. Participants must wear white tops on the day of the flash mob, and volunteer hours will be granted to participants.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “On the 77th anniversary of liberation, I hope everyone joins the cultural events taking place throughout Dobong to reflect on the meaning and value of liberation and share the preciousness of freedom and peace with future generations in a meaningful time.”
