[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Goheung Lifelong Education Center announced on the 3rd that it held an exhibition of works by Hanji craft students titled "Hanji Crafts Connecting Village to Village" in the exhibition hall on the first floor of the Lifelong Education Center.
This exhibition features works by 10 Hanji craft students and will be on display until the 31st, aiming to deliver a message of hope to local residents weary from COVID-19.
Despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19, the students will freely showcase the results they created during the first half of this year at this exhibition.
The exhibition began as a talent donation by an instructor from the village school (Kkumkkuneun Noliteo) in Dongil-myeon, and with the sweat and passion of the students, it resulted in 20 different works.
In particular, it received high praise for not limiting itself to attaching existing patterns but using the texture of Hanji, which is tough and soft, employing our traditional methods.
Director Ko Jae-sul stated, "We could see in the works the spirit of our ancestors who valued and repeatedly reused even a single sheet of paper with frugality," adding, "We will continue to discover and support various programs in cooperation with village schools and village communities."
