[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is promoting the ‘Catch My Job All-in-One’ project to help unemployed youth prepare for employment and is recruiting participants.
The ‘Catch My Job All-in-One’ project, conducted for 60 unemployed youth participants, provides employment programs to help participants strengthen their job competencies so they can secure jobs in their desired fields.
Participants will receive two employment programs from professional instructors at the Seoul Youth Center Gwangjin Orang. The first session covers job-specific and document writing lectures and resume consulting, while the second session focuses on interview communication and speech, interview answer coaching, and mock interviews.
This program is especially meaningful as it provides education focused on the ‘job’ desired by participants, including ▲job-customized resume preparation strategies ▲keyword organization and feedback tailored to the job and the talent profile of the desired company ▲answer consulting centered on frequently asked questions by job type.
The job content of the program varies by schedule: from August 4 to 5, ‘Production Management’; from August 8 to 9, ‘Marketing’; and from August 11 to 12, ‘Sales/Sales Management’ will be covered. Ten participants per job category will be recruited two days before the program starts. Unemployed youth in Seoul who wish to apply can access the site via the QR code on the poster and fill out the application form.
The district also provided programs on ‘Public Enterprises,’ ‘SW Development,’ and ‘Management Support’ from July 25 to August 2, receiving great responses.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Because we support various programs tailored to desired jobs, this project will be more practical help for unemployed youth,” adding, “We will continue to actively discover projects for unemployed youth.”
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that the Songpa Book Museum will operate three book culture education programs for elementary school students until the 21st of this month.
The Songpa Book Museum, which operates various educational programs for infants, elementary students, youth, and adults and has received great responses, has prepared experiential education programs for children and visitors visiting the museum this summer vacation to understand and experience book culture.
Through this program, the Songpa Book Museum expects that all visitors, including children, will have diverse experiences related to books such as planning, publishing, and exhibitions.
The ‘Our Family is a Picture Book Author’ program is designed for elementary school students in grades 1 to 3, allowing them to capture family memories in a picture book. Participating children will understand the publishing process and create a picture book from stories in family photos, providing a special opportunity for empathy and communication within the family.

(Photo) Based on the Songpa Book Museum’s special exhibition ‘The Golden Age of Magazines? Public, Culture, and Memory,’ held until August 31, participants can create their own magazine from the editor’s perspective. Through various experiences such as museum reporting, becoming a magazine model, and decorating magazine covers, participants can enjoy and deepen their understanding of publishing planning. Families can participate together.
‘Exciting Surprise Quiz Cart’ is an experiential education program open to all visitors. At the quiz cart set up in the museum’s first-floor lobby, participants solve quizzes related to various museum spaces such as exhibition rooms, media library, and visible storage to gain a detailed understanding of the exhibitions and the museum.
Details on how to apply and participate in each education program can be found on the Songpa Book Museum website or by phone.
Lee Myung-sook, head of the curatorial research team, said, “We prepared educational programs so that students on summer vacation can enjoy diverse reading cultures,” adding, “We hope this process allows families to spend special time together.”
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) is operating the ‘2022 Summer Vacation Volunteer Academy Program’ to raise awareness of the importance of the environment during adolescence and to practice love and sharing.
The ‘Youth Volunteer Academy’ is a program run annually by the Gwanak-gu Volunteer Center to support youth interest and enthusiasm for volunteering and to encourage participation in volunteer activities during the leisure time of summer vacation.
This year’s Volunteer Academy will be held over two weeks from August 4 to August 12 for about 250 local elementary, middle, and high school students, conducted in a hybrid online and offline format in response to the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
First, participants will have the opportunity to realize the importance of the environment around them and practice carbon neutrality in daily life.
Recently, with the heatwaves and hot weather caused by climate and environmental changes, the ‘Gwanak Carbon OUT!’ environmental protection campaign will be conducted as an easy-to-practice volunteer activity. After completing carbon reduction education, participants will take certified photos of carbon reduction efforts and write reflections.
Additionally, environmental volunteer activities such as ‘Bird Saver’ for ecosystem protection and ‘Gwanak Upcycling’ for proper recycling practice will be conducted, providing small happiness and fulfillment.
Especially, the program ‘Come Back, Climate: Crisis Escape Heat Summer’ in collaboration with the theater group ‘Theater Space for the Oppressed’ uses ‘Metaverse’ and ‘Process Drama’ techniques for a climate environment improvement campaign, expected to attract great interest from youth.
Other programs include ‘Sinsa Market Smiles’ where youth greet neighbors and pick up trash at the market, and ‘Emergency Blood Donation Education and Campaign’ to address the shortage of blood supply, revitalizing traditional markets affected by the prolonged COVID-19 and practicing love and sharing.
Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “Volunteering, where youth dedicate their time to others and learn love and sharing, is a valuable experience during adolescence,” adding, “We will actively support youth to have a meaningful vacation overcoming the heat through various experiences and non-face-to-face volunteer activities.”
Applications for the ‘Gwanak-gu Youth Volunteer Academy’ are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis via the 1365 Volunteer website. For detailed inquiries, contact the Gwanak-gu Volunteer Center.

At the business agreement ceremony, Seongbuk-gu, the Women’s Central Association, and the Jeongneung Women’s New Work Center agreed to actively cooperate for mutual development in ▲planning and operating educational programs for women in Seongbuk-gu ▲preparing programs for career design ▲consultation and support related to employment and entrepreneurship ▲information exchange and promotional support.

It is equipped with a computer room, cooking classroom, program room, and counseling space. A special day only in Guro-gu, ‘Gujabong DAY’!
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) is operating the ‘Volunteer Day with Guro Residents (Gujabong DAY)’ program.
On the 3rd, Guro-gu announced, “To revitalize volunteer activities that were subdued due to COVID-19, we are discovering and promoting various volunteer programs.”
Held on the last Friday of odd-numbered months, ‘Volunteer Day with Guro Residents’ is a program conducted in diverse ways by changing participants and activities each session.
