The United States Golf Association (USGA) and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A), which govern golf rules worldwide, impose a lifetime ban for hiding or cheating after a rule violation. All golfers should be vigilant about playing the correct ball. They must be certain of their ball during play and adhere to this.
