[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Yang Hae-young, chairman of the Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam, visited public institutions located in Jinju Innovation City on the 2nd to discuss regional development suitable for the new era of local autonomy and continued communication efforts.

He also urged the public institutions in Innovation City to take responsibility for enhancing citizens' welfare and regional community development.

In particular, Chairman Yang and the heads of each institution agreed on the importance of continuously engaging in future-oriented discussions, such as the role of the council in improving residential conditions in Innovation City.

Kim Hoe-cheon, president of Korea South-East Power, said, “Jinju is a very beautiful city with a deep history,” and proposed, “Let us increase opportunities for communication for our common interest in regional development.”

Kim Hyun-jun, president of Korea Land and Housing Corporation, stated, “Just as the council declared the first year of local autonomy, we regard this year as the first year of ESG management. We will not neglect the company’s environmental and social responsibilities.”

In response, Chairman Yang said, “Thank you for always contributing to local community projects. Please pay even closer attention to issues closely related to our region, which embraces Innovation City, such as hiring local youth.”
