Unlimited Voice Calls and Texts Provided
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] KT Skylife announced on the 2nd that it has launched four types of mobile 'School Plans' targeted at juniors under the age of 19.
Skylife stated that considering the recent trend of increased mobile data usage among children and adolescents due to non-face-to-face online classes and watching educational videos via smartphones, they launched this plan.
The newly launched School Plans include School 2GB+ (8,900 KRW), School 4GB+ (10,900 KRW), School 8GB+ (14,900 KRW), and School 7GB+ (17,500 KRW), totaling four types. Any child or adolescent under the age of 19 can subscribe to the School Plan.
Even if all the provided data is used up, the plan allows data usage at speeds up to 400kbps (up to 1Mbps for the School 7GB+ plan). Unlimited voice calls and texts are also provided. A speed of 400kbps is sufficient for internet browsing, sending KakaoTalk messages, and watching low-quality YouTube videos.
To commemorate the launch of the four School Plans, Skylife has prepared customer benefits including convenience store gift certificates worth up to 80,000 KRW. In addition to the basic 20,000 KRW benefit provided upon Skylife mobile subscription, the first 500 customers subscribing to the School Plan will receive an additional 20,000 KRW gift certificate. Customers who purchase a USIM at the convenience store Emart24 and activate it will receive a 10,000 KRW USIM purchase support and an additional 20,000 KRW gift certificate for the first 500 customers.
Furthermore, customers using the School Plan who recommend it to friends and have them newly subscribe will receive an additional 10,000 KRW gift certificate for both the referrer and the new customer.
Jung Hoon, Head of Marketing Services at KT Skylife, said, “In response to the untact era, reflecting the changing data usage patterns and customer needs, we have launched a new plan that all juniors under 19 can use.”
