In the construction company's construction capability evaluation, Samsung C&T maintained its top position for the ninth consecutive year, with an evaluation amount approaching 22 trillion won.
On the 31st, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that Samsung C&T ranked first with 21.9472 trillion won in the 2022 construction capability evaluation conducted nationwide for construction companies.
The construction capability evaluation is a system that comprehensively assesses construction performance, management status, technical capability, and credibility to calculate the construction capability evaluation amount (evaluation amount), enabling clients to select appropriate construction companies.
The evaluation amount is used as a standard when construction clients impose bidding restrictions or when the Public Procurement Service operates systems such as the qualified bidders list and minimum contract price system. Samsung C&T has held the number one spot in evaluation amount for nine consecutive years since 2014.
The second place was held by Hyundai Engineering & Construction (12.6 trillion won), the same as the previous year, and DL E&C, established by splitting the construction division from Daelim Industrial, rose from eighth place last year to third place with 9.9 trillion won.
Fourth place was POSCO Engineering & Construction (9.6 trillion won), fifth was GS Engineering & Construction (9.5 trillion won), sixth was Daewoo Engineering & Construction (9.2 trillion won), and seventh was Hyundai Engineering (9.1 trillion won). Eighth place was Lotte Engineering & Construction (7.2 trillion won), ninth was SK Ecoplant (5.3 trillion won), and tenth was HDC Hyundai Development Company (4.9 trillion won).
A total of 75,673 construction companies applied for this year's construction capability evaluation, accounting for 88.8% of all 85,233 construction companies.
Looking at the major rankings of construction performance by industry in general construction (2021), in the civil engineering and architecture sector, Hyundai Engineering & Construction recorded 7.9254 trillion won, Samsung C&T 7.5208 trillion won, and Daewoo Engineering & Construction 6.5348 trillion won.
In the civil engineering sector, Hyundai Engineering & Construction recorded 1.4164 trillion won, Daewoo Engineering & Construction 1.308 trillion won, and SK Ecoplant 1.2485 trillion won.
In the architecture sector, Hyundai Engineering & Construction recorded 6.5089 trillion won, Samsung C&T 6.4883 trillion won, and Daewoo Engineering & Construction 5.2268 trillion won.
The results of this construction capability evaluation will be applied from August 1, and clients can impose bidding restrictions based on the evaluation amount, which is also used as a basis for the Public Procurement Service's qualified bidders list and minimum contract price system.
Detailed evaluation results for individual construction companies can be checked by anyone on the websites of construction-related associations by industry (Korea Construction Association, Korea Specialty Contractors Association, Korea Mechanical Equipment Construction Association, Korea Facility Maintenance Association).
