There Was a Reason for Yubohwa Seongdong-gu Deputy Mayor's Happiness?

With Seoul Deputy District Chief Personnel Imminent, Yubohwa Seongdong District Deputy Chief Jeong Won-oh Secures Stable Position Following Seongdong District Chief's Third Term Success; Expected to Set Successful Record as Deputy Chief Alongside Former Deputies Jang Gyeong-hwan and Han Yeong-hee

There Was a Reason for Yubohwa Seongdong-gu Deputy Mayor's Happiness?

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] The appointment of deputy district heads in Seoul's autonomous districts is imminent.

After Mayor Oh Se-hoon attended the World Cities Summit held in Singapore and returned on August 4, the appointments are scheduled to be made on August 5 (effective August 8).

Accordingly, Seoul's autonomous district officials are expected to have a busy time as current deputy district heads depart and new ones are welcomed.

So far, it is known that about 10 autonomous districts will receive new deputy district heads.

Meanwhile, Yoo Bo-hwa, deputy district head of Seongdong-gu, is drawing attention for successfully working in harmony with Jeong Won-oh, the three-term successful district head of Seongdong-gu.

Deputy Head Yoo, an alumnus of the University of Seoul along with District Head Jeong, was appointed as the successor to former deputy district head Han Young-hee and has received positive evaluations for over a year.

Having entered through a special recruitment for grade 7 at the University of Seoul, Yoo has held key positions such as Seoul City Personnel Director, Planning Director, Autonomous Administration Director, and Policy Planning Officer. Ryu Gyeong-gi, district head of Jungnang-gu, also tried to bring Yoo as deputy district head, but District Head Jeong requested Seoul City first, leading to Yoo's placement in Seongdong-gu.

Since then, Deputy Head Yoo has been working closely with District Head Jeong, managing not only Seoul City-related tasks but also maintaining smooth relationships with staff, according to reports.

Therefore, it is expected that Deputy Head Yoo will spend his public service retirement within District Head Jeong's term at Seongdong-gu Office.

Recently, Deputy Head Yoo surprised many by bringing documents related to local issues to a lunch meeting with Han Gyeong-seol, Chairman of the Seoul Facilities Corporation, for consultation.

He explained an issue that suddenly arose between Seongdong-gu Facilities Management Corporation and Seoul Facilities Corporation and made a request to Chairman Han.

This shows that Deputy Head Yoo demonstrates a proactive attitude to resolve problems even during lunch meetings when work arises.

In particular, Deputy Head Yoo presides over biweekly publicity strategy meetings, contributing significantly to Seongdong-gu issuing more substantial press releases compared to other autonomous districts.

Accordingly, following Deputy Head Jang Gyeong-hwan during the 5th local government term under District Head Ko Jae-deuk and Deputy Head Han Young-hee during the 7th local government term, Deputy Head Yoo is expected to set a successful record in the history of Seongdong-gu deputy district heads.

Deputy Head Yoo said, “I will faithfully carry out the intentions of District Head Jeong Won-oh and maintain good relations with both Seoul City and the staff.”
