33 Sites Including Wastewater Discharge Facilities Targeted... Administrative Guidance and Prosecution Measures for Violations
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Chuncheon City, Gangwon Province, will conduct special monitoring and crackdowns on illegal activities that discharge pollutants without permission during the summer heavy rainfall season.
The city plans to conduct special inspections on 33 sites in three sectors within the jurisdiction: wastewater discharge facilities, livestock manure discharge facilities, and other water pollution sources.
For wastewater discharge facilities, it will check for improper treatment of wastewater at 2 discharge treatment facilities, 7 reuse facilities, and 1 entrusted treatment facility.
It will inspect unauthorized discharge of sediment materials from the treated water of purification facilities at 4 livestock manure discharge facilities and 19 fish farms classified as other water pollution sources.
Additionally, frequent inspections and crackdowns will be strengthened on discharge facilities in areas prone to damage caused by pollution-inducing businesses, where various pollutants around swamps, lakes, and rivers are washed into rivers or seas by rainwater, as well as facilities with many complaints.
For businesses and individuals found violating regulations, administrative guidance and prosecution measures will be taken, and technical support will be provided for prevention facilities requiring restoration.
A city official stated, "We will strengthen education, crackdowns, and patrols to prevent illegal activities such as unauthorized discharge of pollutants during the summer heavy rainfall season in advance."
