Familiar Classical Music in Movies... Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra Members Perform String Ensemble
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The "Our Neighborhood Concert," a collaboration between the Seoul Museum of History and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, will be held on the 4th in the lobby on the first floor of the museum. Any citizen who wishes to attend can come to the museum and enjoy the concert freely and for free.
According to the Seoul Museum of History on the 1st, the "Our Neighborhood Concert" is a representative public performance by the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, planned to provide more citizens with opportunities to enjoy culture and to contribute to the popularization and expansion of classical music audiences. It is open to all citizens.
This performance, which allows the audience to experience the high-quality chamber music performances of Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra members up close, features a diverse string ensemble program ranging from familiar classical pieces in famous movies such as "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Beauty and the Beast," and "The Phantom of the Opera" to traditional classical works by Debussy and Miller.
Composed of Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra members, this performance will be conducted by a string ensemble including violin, viola, cello, bass, flute, and harp. Kim Bo-ram, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra's score specialist, will provide friendly commentary, offering a unique enjoyment of classical music. The string ensemble consists of lead violinist Kim Ji-won, Lee Seon-ju (viola), Lee Hye-jae (cello), Jo Jeong-min (bass), Song Yeon-hwa and Jang Seon-a (flute), and Park Ra-na (harp).
Meanwhile, the museum will also host the Seoul Student Philharmonic Orchestra's summer concert on the 2nd and 3rd. This performance, designed to help students step outside the classroom and nurture their dreams, is open to all citizens free of charge. Kim Yong-seok, director of the Seoul Museum of History, said, “In the midst of the ongoing heatwave, I hope everyone can forget the heat for a while and enjoy a pleasant time with beautiful classical melodies at the Seoul Museum of History.”
