[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] OBIGO announced on the 29th that its smart car software (SW) platform service will be installed in Nissan's ARIYA model and launched in overseas markets.
Nissan plans to lead the popularization of electric vehicles by releasing the ARIYA model, its second electric vehicle and a mid-size SUV, following the success of the Nissan LEAF.
The ARIYA, launched in collaboration with Nissan and Amazon, has attracted attention as it is the first in Japan to have the virtual artificial intelligence (AI) assistant Amazon Alexa Auto built-in. Drivers can use voice commands to play their favorite music, share news, or remotely turn on the living room air conditioner at home. Embedded connected car services such as locking the front doors of the vehicle are also available.
Hwang Doyeon, CEO of OBIGO, said, "The expansion of the Nissan ARIYA launch is significant in that it has further strengthened electric vehicle-based infotainment services," adding, "We will accelerate the full-scale expansion into overseas markets through installation in Nissan's global lineup."
OBIGO is a company that supplies smart car software solutions and platforms worldwide. Starting in the second half of this year, it plans to sequentially introduce various content services based on the vehicle infotainment platform, including live community services, karaoke services, OTT, voice recognition AI, parking, charging payment, ordering, and shopping. The goal is to enable users to access and enjoy content.
