Korean Air Resumes Rome and Barcelona Routes... "After 2 Years and 6 Months"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Korean Air will resume operations on some European routes starting in September to welcome long-haul passengers as overseas travel demand recovers.

Korean Air announced on the 29th that it will resume two routes, Incheon~Rome and Incheon~Barcelona, which had been suspended since March 2020 due to COVID-19, after 2 years and 6 months.

Korean Air's Incheon~Rome route will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays starting September 1. The flight departs Incheon International Airport at 1:00 PM and arrives at Rome Airport at 7:30 PM. The return flight departs Rome Airport at 9:25 PM and arrives at Incheon International Airport at 3:40 PM the next day.

The Incheon~Barcelona route will operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays starting September 2. The flight departs Incheon International Airport at 11:40 AM and arrives at Barcelona Airport at 7:00 PM. The return flight departs Barcelona Airport at 9:00 PM and arrives at Incheon International Airport at 4:05 PM the next day.

By reopening the air routes to Rome, the capital of Italy which preserves ancient European cultural heritage well, and Barcelona, Spain, known for its magnificent architectural styles represented by Gaudi, Korean Air plans to prepare for tourism demand to Europe while also offering various options to transfer passengers.

Korean Air will closely monitor the recovery trend of overseas travel demand after COVID-19 and continue to normalize routes as a long-haul network-focused airline.
