[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongju City, known as the ‘Sobaeksan Clean City,’ is establishing a foothold on an online shopping platform to target the tastes of consumers nationwide.
On the 28th, Yeongju City announced plans to reach consumers across the country by listing its excellent local agricultural and specialty products on Interpark, a leading domestic online shopping mall.
Earlier, on the 27th, Yeongju City held an Interpark listing briefing session for the local agricultural and specialty product shopping mall ‘Yeongju Jangnal’ at City Hall.
Co-hosted by Yeongju City, the Gyeongbuk Agricultural Food Distribution Education Promotion Institute, and Interpark, the briefing covered the promotion and sales of local agricultural and specialty products through the newly partnered shopping platform, Interpark.
From the 13th to the 20th of this month, the city accepted applications for Interpark listing from agricultural specialty product producers, processors, and distributors with business registration certificates based in Yeongju who have experience in online sales or are capable of online sales.
A total of 23 companies wishing to be listed attended the briefing, where they received guidance on Yeongju Jangnal’s operational performance, plans for the second half of the year, and the Interpark listing process.
The city plans to approach customers using Interpark through listings next month. It aims to expand the scope of promotion and purchasing channels and accelerate the promotion of Yeongju’s agricultural products through special product exhibitions and coupon issuance events within Interpark’s Yeongju Jangnal section.
Kim Deokjo, Director of the Distribution Support Division, said, “Since 2020, Yeongju Jangnal has steadily grown, achieving remarkable results such as a 38% increase in sales and a 1238% increase in membership in the first half of this year compared to 2021. We hope that the listing on Interpark, a new partner mall for Yeongju Jangnal, will help spread the excellence of Yeongju’s agricultural and specialty products nationwide.”
