Asia Economy concluded the first training course of the 'Economic Media School,' introduced with the goal of nurturing the next generation of economic journalists, and selected five scholarship students, holding a scholarship award ceremony on the 27th.
The Economic Media School is the first economic reporting introductory education program established by Asia Economy, a domestic media company, to provide growth opportunities for those aspiring to become reporters. The first course, held over five weeks starting from the 7th of last month, was attended by 25 students selected through a screening process.
The curriculum was composed of lectures on reporting and article writing, basic literacy required as an economic media reporter, as well as journalist lectures and expert special lectures in the fields of humanities and social sciences, international affairs, economy and finance, and IT.
Among the students who completed the entire course, five were selected as scholarship students through assignment evaluations: Lee Seohee (27), Shin Jeongin (26), Kim Gunchan (25), Song Hyundo (25), and Seon Eonyang (25). The scholarship students received certificates of completion and letters of recommendation under the name of the Asia Economy CEO, along with scholarship certificates and scholarship funds.
Woo Byunghyun, CEO of Asia Economy, said, "Education in writing and economic literacy will help not only the qualities required as a reporter but also social life," and urged, "I hope the scholarship students actively interact with subsequent course students so that the Economic Media School can become a gateway for nurturing talent in the media industry."
Asia Economy plans to continue the Economic Media School training program based on the first course curriculum and student satisfaction evaluations.
