Grid Provides Metaverse Platform 'moim' for Yeongsan University Vision Meeting

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Grid, a subsidiary of EightOne specializing in metaverse platform development, announced on the 27th that it provided its self-developed metaverse platform "Moim" to the "7th Vision Meeting" hosted by Woosuk University Youngsan University (President Bu Guwook, hereafter Youngsan University).


The "Vision Meeting" held on the metaverse platform "Moim" was attended by about 20 professors including Bu Guwook, President of Youngsan University, Choi Wooseok, Dean of Academic Affairs, Lee Yeonki, Dean of Art & Tech, Lee Byungchul, Dean of Hotel Tourism College, Kim Inkyu, Dean of Creative Talent College, Kim Soyoung, Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning Development, and Kim Jihyung, Professor of Fashion Design Department.


Choi Cheolsun, CEO of Grid, said, "By providing the 'Moim' platform for Youngsan University's academic seminar, we were able to integrate future technology into the education field and discover the possibility of creative teaching and learning that is more advanced than traditional methods," adding, "We expect that the 'Moim' platform will greatly contribute to enhancing learning effectiveness in educational settings in the future."


Professor Kim Yonghee of the Department of Architectural Engineering at Youngsan University, who gave a presentation on the theme of the "Vision Meeting," "Metaverse Utilization Technology in Smart Cities," introduced concepts and cases of digital twins and smart home technologies using the metaverse, as well as PropTech cases that apply ICT technology to the real estate market.


Since December last year, Youngsan University has been continuously holding the academic seminar "Vision Meeting" to expand discussions on the utilization of the metaverse. Professors from various fields introduce cases where the metaverse is used in their respective fields and suggest ways to utilize it in major courses, aiming to enhance educational immersion and promote educational innovation through customized education.


Bu Guwook, President of Youngsan University, stated, "The goal of this discussion is to increase student immersion and educational outcomes through edutech such as the metaverse in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution," adding, "Youngsan University will realize educational innovation using the metaverse as a new teaching method and take the lead in future education."


Grid and Youngsan University plan to carry out educational innovation using edutech such as the metaverse in the future, and to spread it among students and faculty, integrating core technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution era such as digital twin and metacampus construction into educational sites.
