[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam, held a regular meeting of the ‘Jinju Innovation City Heads Council’ on the 25th, attended by heads of public institutions relocated to the innovation city including LH and related local organizations.


At the regular meeting, 11 relocated public institutions along with the Defense Technology Promotion Research Institute participated as new members, and the 9th Jinju City Council chairman also attended.


The city requested active support and cooperation from the attending institution heads for the promotion of the UAM project to foster the strategic aerospace industry and the successful hosting of the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships.


Additionally, the meeting provided a communication opportunity to share promotional matters by each institution and discuss ways to revitalize the innovation city and promote regional mutual development.


Mayor Cho Gyu-il said, “I appreciate the significant improvement in residential conditions in the innovation city and the revitalization of the local economy thanks to the active cooperation of the relocated public institutions,” and added, “I ask for cooperation so that when additional public institutions from the metropolitan area relocate, related institutions connected to the existing relocated ones move to Jinju.”


Meanwhile, the Jinju Innovation City Heads Council was founded in May 2017 with the participation of 17 institution heads to ensure the stable settlement of relocated public institutions and improve residential conditions, and holds regular meetings annually to strive for the revitalization of the innovation city and regional mutual development.
