[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] Lee Hak-su, mayor of Jeongeup, has ordered thorough measures to ensure that citizens do not experience any inconvenience in their daily lives.
On the 25th, Mayor Lee presided over a video executive meeting and emphasized the need for flawless operation and management of heatwave shelters and Jeongeupcheon to ensure that citizens can spend their daily lives safely and healthily without any discomfort.
Mayor Lee stated, "With the rainy season effectively over and the full onset of the heatwave, special attention to citizens' health is required more than ever," adding, "Check whether the heating and cooling systems at the heatwave shelters are operating properly and verify once again that there are no inconveniences in their use to prevent any damage to residents caused by the heatwave."
He also requested management to ensure that residents using the riverside can enjoy their time without inconvenience by maintaining the environment through grass cutting, removal of underbrush, and garbage collection along Jeongeupcheon, which is the largest resting place for citizens where many enjoy walking and exercising.
Furthermore, he repeatedly emphasized that when departments carry out projects, they must minimize local residents' inconveniences and secure trust in city administration through communication and cooperation with residents of eup, myeon, and dong.
Mayor Lee also urged a full-scale response for citizen safety based on a solid quarantine network as the recent increase in COVID-19 spread marks the beginning of a resurgence.
He added, "The most important thing is preventive measures," and reiterated, "Please focus administrative efforts to ensure the smooth implementation of the 4th vaccination."
