[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Kakao Brain announced on the 25th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Catholic University of Korea Catholic Central Medical Center to conduct research on a super-large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) model in the field of medical imaging.
Kakao Brain and Catholic Central Medical Center plan to support the development of ‘medical imaging services’ applying super-large-scale AI models trained on the largest datasets in the medical imaging field through joint research, lead the advancement of the global healthcare market, and further accelerate the role of AI in the medical imaging sector.
Kakao Brain will be responsible for ▲research on super-large-scale AI models in the medical imaging field ▲providing research infrastructure necessary for data training ▲providing expert research personnel and technical capabilities ▲clinical and regulatory management for technology commercialization ▲overall commercialization of medical imaging services. Catholic Central Medical Center will handle ▲collaboration for research on super-large-scale AI models in the medical imaging field ▲medical consultation and academic exchange ▲support for discovering pipelines in the medical imaging field.
Through this agreement, the research scope will be expanded from initial chest X-rays to CT, MRI, and ultrasound imaging, while simultaneously proving clinical usefulness and continuously discovering scalable pipelines to expand research and development of medical imaging services applying super-large-scale AI models.
