According to the company's 2022 Sustainability Management Report released on the 25th, the total social value created, including economic indirect contributions such as employment, dividends, and taxes, amounted to 278.6 billion KRW.
In the environmental field, its subsidiary Mintit collected 1 million used phones, generating 21.2 billion KRW in material costs and 1.2 billion KRW in greenhouse gas cost savings. They planted 4,000 saplings in Yeouido Saetgat Park and donated used phones. SK Rent-a-Car decided to convert its Jeju branch into the largest electric vehicle-exclusive complex in Korea, accelerating its focus on electric vehicle-centered business.
SK Magic introduced its eco-friendly brand for the first time last year and is expanding its lineup of eco-friendly products such as air purifiers and water purifiers. These products are 100% recycled even after rental contracts end instead of being discarded. Walkerhill became the first hotel in Korea to receive zero waste landfill certification. The company stated that the value created in the entire environmental sector increased by more than 30% compared to the previous year.
Additionally, in terms of social performance, it created 9.8 billion KRW worth, a 40% increase during the same period. Park Sang-gyu, CEO of SK Networks, said, "Based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, we will solidify our business model and spread positive influence to society."
