Celltrion Supports On-site Training for 'WHO Global Bio Workforce Development Hub'

Celltrion Supports On-site Training for 'WHO Global Bio Workforce Development Hub' Trainees from various countries attending the Global Bio Workforce Training Hub on-site education are receiving an explanation about antibody drug development and production from a representative of Celltrion Biopharmaceutical Research Institute.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Celltrion announced on the 25th that it conducted on-site training for trainees from various countries participating in the 'WHO Global Bio Workforce Training Hub' education program led by the government.

South Korea was solely designated by the WHO last February as the 'Global Bio Workforce Training Hub,' a center for vaccine and biopharmaceutical production process education and training, and is currently conducting training. This month, a short-term training program organized by the International Vaccine Institute (IVI) is being held for two weeks, with 106 production personnel from 25 countries and 32 domestic trainees participating.

Celltrion is participating in this training support as a private partner, providing on-site education including introductions to antibody manufacturing processes and GMP production facility operations, as well as tours of production facilities.

Participants from educational institutions and trainees attending the Celltrion on-site training toured the company's biotechnology research institute and production facilities firsthand, enhancing their understanding of the development and production of antibody drugs supplied to the global market. In particular, executives in charge of research and development and production of Celltrion's key products, including division heads and general managers, personally attended and engaged with the trainees.

A Celltrion representative stated, “As South Korea rises as a global bio powerhouse and is selected as the WHO Global Bio Workforce Training Hub, meaningful projects for training bio personnel from various countries are underway. Celltrion will spare no effort in participating and supporting to ensure that the company's accumulated know-how and capabilities are well conveyed through on-site training.”
