A Fixed Amount of Card Usage Fees Donated to Fund by Hana Card
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hana Card announced on the 25th that it has launched the 'Onhappy Hana Card,' which donates a certain amount when the card is used, in collaboration with Onhappy, an international education development NGO corporation.
Onhappy is a domestic grassroots organization established in 2011 and an international NGO that obtained special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in 2017. Its main purpose is development support projects such as educational support, healthcare support, child sponsorship, and dispatching overseas volunteer teams for refugees, orphans, and impoverished children in poverty-stricken areas both domestically and abroad.
The Onhappy Hana Card aims to contribute to improving the educational environment of the internationally impoverished marginalized groups through Onhappy by allocating a certain amount of the card usage amount as a fund from Hana Card. Card benefits include ▲ 0.5% Hana Money accumulation with no limit on all domestic merchants ▲ 5,000 Hana Money accumulation per 100,000 KRW of total monthly spending on Gmarket, Auction, 11st, Interpark, Coupang, Wemakeprice, Tmon, GS Home Shopping, Lotte Home Shopping, Hyundai Home Shopping, CJ O Shopping, NS Home Shopping, Home&Shopping (monthly limit of 10,000 Hana Money) ▲ 5,000 Hana Money accumulation per 100,000 KRW of total monthly spending on communication fees, public transportation (bus, subway), taxi, electricity bills, and city gas bills (monthly limit of 10,000 Hana Money).
Hana Card is also conducting a donation campaign to commemorate the launch of the Onhappy Hana Card. Until the end of November, when donating to Onhappy with Hana Money through 1Q Pay and the Hana Card website, Hana Card will additionally donate an amount equal to the donated amount on a one-to-one basis.
The annual fee for the Onhappy Hana Card is 8,000 KRW for domestic use only and 10,000 KRW for domestic and international use.
A Hana Card official stated, "To practice corporate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), we launched this partnership card to contribute to educational support projects for marginalized children at home and abroad in collaboration with Korea's representative NGO Onhappy," adding, "We plan to continuously expand various collaborative products with social enterprises including NGOs."
