Gyeonggi-do Offers Unused Land for Lease

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is lending unused land owned by the province to its residents.

On the 25th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it is disclosing land that is not currently used for administrative purposes and can be rented to the general public on the shared facility reservation platform, Gyeonggi Sharing Service (share.gg.go.kr), and is accepting lease applications online.

Provincial property refers to assets owned by Gyeonggi Province, which have the advantage of having uncomplicated lease rights, making them reliable for use. The province explained that it has made it possible to apply for leases online for user convenience, whereas previously applications were accepted only in person.

The province surveyed leasable general properties not used for administrative purposes from each city and county, and disclosed a total of 446 parcels of provincial property covering 558,491㎡. Among these, 318 parcels covering 329,389㎡ (about 59%) are farmland (rice paddies and fields) used for cultivation, and the rest are forest land or sites.

When lease applications are submitted online, each city and county reviews whether there are any legal issues and makes the final decision on the lease contract.

The cost varies depending on the purpose, official land price, area, and duration of use, and the contract is signed at the respective city or county office.

Ki-do Do, Director of the Provincial Asset Management Division, stated, "We aim to provide information to users of shared property and ensure convenience in lease applications to revitalize shared property."
