Gwangju Gwangsan-gu Wins 'Excellence Award' in National Local Government Job Competition

It was recognized for its achievements in implementing customized job measures by establishing five strategies, including revitalizing neighborhood commercial districts and supporting the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises, to revive the local economy stagnated by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

In particular, Gwangsan-gu attracted attention by creating 309 jobs across 18 projects through the 'Gwangsan Citizen Allowance,' a socially participatory innovative job program that introduced participation income for the first time nationwide.

Along with this, the 'Hueblence' program for safe hospital accompaniment for vulnerable health groups created jobs for those with career interruptions in the medical and care sectors, and the 'Manse Challenge' for health up and neighborhood economy up led to the participation of over 6,000 citizens in walking exercises and increased sales in neighborhood commercial districts.

Gwangsan-gu's specialized policies, such as the COVID-19 overcoming economic vaccine '1% Hope Loan' and the community health improvement 'Gwangju Medical Welfare Social Cooperative,' also received favorable evaluations.

Based on these achievements, the district plans to promote various policies to make Gwangsan a good place for businesses and work during the 8th local government administration. Additionally, the 70 million won incentive from this award will be used for next year's regional industry-customized job projects.
