[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Hyun-ji] On the 20th, Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, said regarding the speculation of an alliance with Jang Je-won, a 'Yun Core Member' (a key associate of President Yoon Seok-yeol) and member of the People Power Party, "This is the first time I have heard such a story."

After leading the second civil-party-government discussion at the National Assembly that day, Ahn told reporters in response to a question about the 'Ahn Cheol-soo party leader, Jang Je-won secretary general' speculation, "I don't know anything about it now." Regarding the so-called 'Kim-Jang' alliance between Kim Ki-hyun and Jang Je-won, he said, "What is that? Some kind of kimchi-making? It's not even kimchi-making season."

On the divided opinions within the party over Kwon Seong-dong's acting party leader system and the early party convention, he said, "Today is a discussion about livelihood issues. I will only talk about that issue, and since there are already various concerns about internal party matters, I will announce my position around tomorrow." He added, "The most important thing is the entire nation of the Republic of Korea. From that perspective, from the people's perspective, how they view things, and the responsibility our government and ruling party have to align with that?how we should act in such times?I will share my thoughts tomorrow."

The discussion that day was held under the theme "Competitive Strategies in the Era of Scientific and Technological Hegemony." Yoo Woong-hwan, head of the ESG Innovation Group at SK Telecom and a member of the 20th Presidential Transition Committee's Economic Subcommittee 2, delivered the presentation. Participants included Kim Young-sik, a member of the People Power Party, Hwang Soo-sung, Director of Industrial Innovation Growth at the Ministry of Industry and Resources, and Lee Chang-han, Executive Vice President of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association. Although about 30 current members of the People Power Party attended, attendance was lower than expected due to overlapping schedules with the party's caucus meeting.
