Inauguration of Ma Jong-gun as the 19th Ma-ryang-myeon Chief of Gangjin-gun


[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] On the 19th, the Maryang-myeon Office in Gangjin-gun, Jeollanam-do held the inauguration ceremony for the 19th Maryang-myeon Chief with about 80 attendees including heads of institutions and organizations.


The inauguration ceremony was attended by Gangjin-gun Governor Gang Jin-won, County Council Chairperson Kim Bo-mi, county council members, and heads of various related organizations within Maryang-myeon to celebrate the inauguration.


The 19th Maryang-myeon Chief, Ma Jong-gun, is originally from Bijadong, Gundo-myeon, Gangjin-gun. He was newly appointed in October 1986 and began his first four years of service at the Maryang Branch Office. Since then, he served as the head of the industrial team in Gundo-myeon and Gangjin-eup, head of the horticulture and specialty crops team in the eco-friendly agricultural products division at the county office, and head of the guidance planning team at the Agricultural Technology Center. Following the personnel appointment in Gangjin-gun on the 18th, he was assigned as the Maryang-myeon Chief, returning to his first workplace.


In his inaugural speech, Maryang-myeon Chief Ma Jong-gun said, “I will devote all my efforts based on the administrative experience I have accumulated so far to make Maryangmihang, known as the Naples of Korea, a catalyst for revitalizing the Gangjin regional economy by attracting tourists from all over the country.” He added, “I will prioritize communication and harmony in carrying out the administration to make Maryang a happy and livable place for residents, and I ask for your great interest and cooperation.”


Governor Gang Jin-won said, “I sincerely congratulate Maryang-myeon Chief Ma Jong-gun on his inauguration and have prepared a blueprint for the re-advancement of Maryang-myeon, including the construction of the Gangjin-Maryang 4-lane road, the launch of the Jeju-Shinma Port cargo ship, and the activation plan for Kamak Island.” He urged, “Please work closely with the relevant departments to ensure that these core strategic projects can be realized.”
