[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] The Justice Party declared on the 20th that if negotiations are not concluded within this week regarding the Daewoo Shipbuilding subcontractor workers' strike, the entire emergency response committee leadership and all party members will guard the tent headquarters.

Lee Eun-ju, head of the Justice Party's emergency response committee, after an urgent joint meeting with the emergency committee and the parliamentary group, stated, "We have decided to respond with full party efforts to the Daewoo Shipbuilding situation," adding, "The Justice Party will stand by the subcontractor workers at the Geoje shipyard under any circumstances and will protect them at the forefront if public authority is deployed."

Lee predicted, "If negotiations are not concluded within this week, the entire emergency committee leadership and parliamentary group will set up a tent headquarters at the Geoje shipyard and stay together until the end."

She mentioned, "The government's deployment of public authority in the Daewoo Shipbuilding situation has entered the final countdown," noting, "The police, who had already issued four summonses to the Shipbuilding Subcontractors' Union executive committee, conducted a safety inspection at the strike site." She added, "In addition, the National Police Agency deployed four companies from the Busan Police Agency and dedicated investigative personnel from the Gyeongnam Police Agency to the site," stating, "President Yoon Seok-yeol's threat that 'we have waited long enough' has led to the deployment of police forces."

Regarding this, she said, "The Justice Party cannot stand by and watch this," and declared, "We will firmly respond to Daewoo Shipbuilding, which ignores the desperate voices of subcontractor workers demanding recovery of wages suppressed for seven years, and to the Yoon Seok-yeol government that is fueling the deployment of public authority." Lee also said, "The Ssangyong Motor crisis and the Yongsan tragedy must not be repeated at the Geoje shipyard."
